Who We Are.

Ocotillo Law & Policy Partners LLP is a nationwide Indian law practice with over fifty years of experience representing tribal governments and businesses, development partners, and others on a variety of matters, with an emphasis on federal-Indian law, Indian lands, Indian gaming, tribal finance and economic development, real estate transactions and development, environmental and land use, and related federal and state regulatory matters.

On gaming and business matters, Ocotillo Law & Policy Partners LLP has substantial experience advising clients on issues involving the Indian Gaming Regulatory Act and its regulations, NIGC and BIA approval processes, regulations and compliance issues, tribal gaming commission matters, development agreements, management agreements, tribal-state gaming compacts, gaming ordinances, Indian lands opinions, and revenue allocation plans. With over $1.0 billion in tribal finance experience, we also work with tribes and their partners on tribal financings for projects such as casinos, hotels, infrastructure and other investments.

Ocotillo Law & Policy Partners LLP also regularly serves as outside general counsel to tribal governments, businesses, and regulatory entities, such as tribal gaming commissions, and works with clients on a wide range of topics, including tribal economic development, Indian lands, tribal energy matters, and Indian housing. We zealously advocate for tribal nations in the public policy arena, on legislative initiatives and government affairs matters.   We have built deep experience with current and past officials and career personnel in various state, local, and especially federal administrations.
